The sale of homes rose 25.7% last October in relation to the same month of 2016, to add 37,228 operations, as reported by the National Statistics Institute (INE) this Wednesday.
The year-on-year advance in October, with which the sale of homes chained six consecutive months of increases, was almost 15 points higher than in September (+ 11%).
Transactions on used homes increased by 24.8% in October in relation to the same month in 2016, totaling 30,285, while the sale of new homes registered its highest year-on-year advance in the series, started in 2008, after advancing 29 8%, to add 6,943 transactions.
90.6% of the houses transferred by merchanting in the tenth month of the year were free homes and 9.4% were protected. The purchase and sale of free homes increased by 26.5% in the interannual rate in October, to 33,727 transactions, while operations on protected homes advanced 19.1%, with 3,501 transactions.
In monthly terms (October over September), home sales fell by 3.6%, their smallest decrease in this month since 2014.
Catalonia registers the lowest year-on-year growth
Last October, the largest number of merchanting of dwellings per 100,000 inhabitants occurred in the Balearic Islands (135), the Valencian Community (130) and Madrid (122). In the month of the independence referendum, 99 homes were sold in Catalonia for every 100,000 inhabitants.
Andalusia was the region that carried out the most operations on housing in the tenth month of the year, with 7,287 merchantings, followed by Madrid (6,201) and Catalonia (5,743).
All the communities increased the number of merchantings of houses in October in interannual rate. The smallest rebound corresponded to Catalonia, with an increase of 12.4%, and the largest to Madrid, with an increase of 50%.
In monthly terms, Catalonia registered a 6.5% decrease in home sales in October. Nationally, the decrease was 3.6%, almost three points less.
The total number of farms transferred rose 12.3%
Adding rustic and urban farms (houses and other urban nature buildings), the farms transmitted last October reached 143,249, a figure 12.3% higher than the same month in 2016.
21.4% more farms were transferred by merchanting than in October 2016, while donation transfers increased 3.1%, swap operations rose 32.2% and inheritance transfers advanced 8.2 %.
According to INE data, the number of merchantings of rustic properties increased 10.5% last October, to a total of 11,019 operations, while merchantings of urban properties increased 23.6%, to 63,267 operations.
In October, the highest number of merchantings of farms transmitted per 100,000 inhabitants occurred in La Rioja (663), tft cheat sheet y León (609) and Castilla-La Mancha (573).
