the chat isn't displayed for streamlabs OBS if you have it on a vertical screen

so it looks that on a vertical monitor Streamlabs OBS doesn't have enough space for the chat and to fix that you could put the chat above overview next to  recent event list because recent event list doesn't have to be that big as it is right now

Add chat as an element in the edirot so we can have on display with vertical monitors.

Facing the same issue. The elements in the layout just need to be written to resize with smaller variables when the chat is enabled.

Open Streamlabs OBS.  On the Right Side of the program, just to the left of the edge of your screen, you should see a little arrow.  Click that.  There's your chat.

Been almost a year and it looks like this issue still hasn't been resolved. Adding my voice in hopes that Streamlabs will take the time to make this small improvement. So many people use a second display in portrait mode just for chat.

I have the same issue with my vertical monitor, super annoying and inconvenient. discord resizes just fine the bottom half of my vertical monitor and works just like normal but when I try to put SLOBS on the top half of my vertical monitor there is just not way to see chat.

Hoping this will get a fix soon, maybe allowing us to organise/stack the different sections differently, there is definitely room for the chat somewhere. It is much easier to read the chat on a verticle monitor.

This is ABSURD. The WHOLE REASON i have a vertical monitor is so I can look at chat easier! +1000

I'm still having an issue with my chat not appearing. It worked briefly then stopped out of nowhere. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing. I've tried changing the settings and such as well. Not a huge deal, but big enough that I have to make changes to the stream when this program was specifically designed to help streamers and reduce CPU usage.

+1, I have to pop out twitch chat every time and do some weird window gymnastics.

i do not have a vertical screen, however the chat box isn't visible at all, no clue how you can ignore this.

Yeah it's super weird that the decision was chat wasn't important enough to show in portrait mode.

    +1 for this

I just installed SLOBS, trying it instead of OBS Studio. I like that its all in one window, but I have my chat open on my right monitor, which is in portrait mode. When I move SLobs over there, the chat just doesn't show up at all. Doesn't matter if it's on left or right, chat completely disappears. I personally think the chat should take priority over the event list. They really should let you customize the layout, where the panels are in the Live tab.

    this is sorely needed

Alternatively, you could leave chat running down the entire right side of the monitor and have the rest of the widgets stacked vertically.
